On a Mac, quit the app with Cmd+Q — closing the window is not enough — and open it again. If Terminal said “PowerPoint not found”, open PowerPoint once, quit it, and run the line again.

What this changes on your computer, and how to undo it

One small file, manifest.xml, that tells Office where Rubus lives. Rubus itself runs from app.rubuschart.com and updates there, so there is nothing to reinstall. To undo it, double-click Remove Rubus from the same download — or, on a Mac, paste curl -fsSL https://app.rubuschart.com/remove-mac.sh | bash into Terminal. Charts you've already made stay in your files.
