Terms and conditions
These terms cover your use of Rubus, an add-in for Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, and of rubuschart.com and app.rubuschart.com. Rubus is made and sold by Rubuschart LLP (“we”, “us”). By installing Rubus, starting a trial or buying a licence, you agree to these terms.
1. What Rubus is
Rubus draws business charts inside PowerPoint and Excel. It loads from app.rubuschart.com each time you open it, so it needs an internet connection. Rubus is in early access: we add and change features over time, and we may change how a feature works where that makes the product better.
2. Trial
You can use Rubus in full for seven days without paying. One trial is offered per person. When the trial ends, you need a licence to insert new charts; charts you already made stay in your files.
3. Your licence
A licence gives one named person a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Rubus on their own computers for the period paid for. You may not share your licence key, resell or sublicense Rubus, or try to get around the licence check. We may limit how many devices one licence can be active on at once; you can free a device from the Account screen in Rubus.
4. Buying through Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payment, invoicing, sales tax and refunds; we provide the product and its support. When you buy, you also agree to the Paddle Buyer Terms.
5. Price, renewal and cancelling
The current price is shown on the pricing page, in US dollars; VAT or sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. A licence runs for one year and renews automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. We will tell you by email before a price change applies to your renewal. You can cancel at any time from the link in your Paddle receipt or at paddle.net; your licence then runs to the end of the year already paid for.
6. Refunds
You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any payment. The details are in our refund policy.
7. Your data and your charts
Your numbers and charts belong to you. They stay in your documents and are not sent to us. What we do collect — such as a random install id for the trial and your licence details — is described in our privacy policy.
8. Fair use
Don't copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer Rubus except where the law allows it, and don't use it to break the law or to attack or overload our services. We may suspend a licence that is used in breach of these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.
9. Availability and warranty
We work to keep Rubus running and correct, but it is provided “as is”, and we can't promise it will be free of errors or available without interruption. Changes Microsoft makes to Office may affect how Rubus works. Check important charts before you present or publish them. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
10. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost data or lost business, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Rubus in the twelve months before the claim. We don't limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law.
11. Ending
You can stop using Rubus at any time and remove it with Remove Rubus from the download. If we ever stop offering Rubus, we will give at least 30 days' notice and refund the unused part of any paid year.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to your rights, we will tell licence holders by email at least 14 days before it takes effect.
13. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in your local courts.
